ZentauroN – Quality, Made In Germany

No, ‘ZentauroN’ isn’t the name of a wizard in an upcoming “Hobbit” or “Lord of the Rings” film, its actually the name of a respected German maker of high-quality gear.

ZentauroN (German for ‘Centaur’) produce a wide range of equipment and bags for a variety of applications. Their range includes products for military and law enforcement, civil protection and security, search and rescue, outdoor pursuits and sports.

Well known for their Vulcan Plate Carrier system (seen below), which is in use with German special forces, ZentauroN recently developed a new Multi-Mission Plate Carrier / Body Armor System for the Italian ‘Incursori’ special forces.

They also recently launched the Vulcan and a number of their other core military products in GreenZone™.

What is ‘Rasputin Item’?

To satisfy the demand in the airsoft world for economically-priced, quality-made replicas of real-steel gear using high-quality genuine materials, there is a new brand on the market with a rather unusual name.

We’re not sure why they chose the name “Rasputin Item”, but its certainly an original idea to name your tactical gear and garment producing company after a mysterious, and infamous, Russian spiritualist.  But at least they don’t feature an incomprehensible, scraggly-bearded, unwashed, weirdo in their advertising…

What you will find in their product line-up is a range of gear and clothing replicating some of the most highly sought after (and pricey) high-end gear and clothing from the real-steel world.  So, for example, you’ll see replicas of Crye Precision’s G3 Combat Shirt and Combat pants, as well as plate carriers with and without integrated mag pouches for assault rifles or sub-machine guns, and various other admin pouches and such.

The Optimal Performance System (OPS) brand was stablished in 2005 and has become a fairly well-known international tactical gear brand.

The OPS brand continuously pursues creativity and quality in product development and uses only genuine and first-quality materials to ensure the durability of their offering and the protection of the user.  To date, OPS customers include troops deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, Law Enforcement SWAT Teams and Private Security Companies.  OPS products also featured in the ‘Terminator 4′ movie.

OPS added the GreenZone™ and BadLands™ colorways from Hyde Definition’s PenCott™ camo family to their line-up a while back, and they’ve been building up a nice full portfolio of PenCott™ products rapidly since.  Most recently, they released one of their most eagerly awaited PenCott™ products – their very popular ‘Gen2 Ultimate Direct Action Pants’.  Already available in GreenZone™, watch out for BadLands™ to follow soon.

Our friends at Direct Action Gear recently provided a sneak-peak of their latest products – the ‘Spitfire’ Plate Carrier and the ‘Hurricane’ Chest Rig.  The FULL line of Direct Action gear and clothing will be revealed at EnforceTac & IWA in March.

Direct Action® launched as independent brand – featuring Hyde Definition’s PenCott™ camouflage patterns

The Direct Action® website, Facebook page, Twitter account and YouTube Channel went live today.  The full Direct Action line consists of a head-to-toe system of head-gear, garments, load-carrying equipment, gloves and boots – all available in a range of solid colors and camouflage patterns, including the PenCott™ family of camouflage patterns from Hyde Definition™.

IWA DAYou might have heard about or seen the first prototypes of the Direct Action® line of professional gear during the IWA trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany in March 2014.  Over the next months, interest in the Direct Action® line grew quickly – especially among special operations forces units.  Building on that interest, and the potential that new technologies offered, Helikon-Tex® quickly turned what had begun as a project into a fully-functioning independent brand with a dedicated team of design and production professionals.

Leveraging the over 30 years of experience of Helikon-Tex®, over the next few months the Direct Action® team established a new R&D, built a strong professional team of designers, prototype makers and production specialists to create a range of products for the Direct Action® brand.

Direct Action logoAll of the gear they designed, after initial in-house testing, was then fielded to special operations units for end-user trials and evaluations. Their input and suggestions were critical and were incorporated into the final designs at a speed never seen before in the Polish defense industry.

The gear that’s been created under the Direct Action® brand combines the strengths of the team: knowledge of newest tactical gear trends and solutions, experience in clothing and gear design, and close ties to professional end-users.  As a result of this close cooperation with end-users, the Direct Action® team  immediately began to receive orders from Polish special operations units as soon as the final gear designs were ready.

The team’s depth and breadth of design and production experience also drove them to give the DA gear a distinctive “look-and-feel” – and to create a brand where each and every element of the system interfaces with the other components.  This combination has created an “individual-as-a-system” approach that is open and flexible with all necessary options, yet remains streamlined and avoids over-burdening.

When creating DIRECT ACTION® every detail was rigorously thought-out from this systemic perspective – no random choices, no compromises, no “same-old-stuff” design approach, no shying away from new technology – and all based on the firsthand, real world experience of elite special operations units.
