SNOWDRIFT camouflage over-garment

Developed for tactical use, our snow-overwhites design incorporates a roomy cut and includes practical features leveraged from the latest military outer garment designs.

*UPDATE*  Due to popular demand, we have decided to release this design in our other camouflage patterns using our NyCo fabric as well.  We have also included a rear “poachers” pocket on the jacket.  This ensemble will also now be known as the “Predator Jacket and Trousers“.  Look out for more details soon!

’tis the season – for “SNOWDRIFT”

Traditional solid white “snow camouflage” doesn’t work well in terrain where the snow cover is uneven and features shadows and textures, and/or where rocks and dry vegetation break the blanket of snow.  So, some other snow camouflage patterns attempt to include the appearance of stalks, grass or tree branches – which only work in very specific environments.

Snowdrift is a three-color pattern that uses the same pattern geometry as the rest of the PenCott family,  and is specifically designed for optimum concealment in a wide range of snow-covered terrain.

The 3-in-1, omni-directional, multi-scalar, fractal pattern geometry, plus the 3 carefully analyzed and selected colors of Snowdrift, creates a pattern that vanishes into the textures of the natural environment.  And as the photos below show, it works well at close, mid- and longer-range distances too.

The camouflage over-suit featured in these photos is made from our lightweight, quick-drying, 100% polyester fabric with a durable water-resistant finish and military specification nIR performance.  The suit comprises a parka and trousers set that features multiple pockets, and reinforcing patches on the elbows, knees and seat.  It was developed by Hyde Definition with Griffin Manufacturing of Fall River, Massachusetts at the request of a private military company, but will also be available soon directly from Hyde Definition.  Dealers and retailers interested in stocking the suit can contact us for further information. Watch out for more details to also be made public soon.

Finally, our Marketing and Business Development Director, Lawrence Holsworth, will be attending the SHOT Show in Las Vegas the 14th – 18th of January.  Feel free to contact him at +1-508-677-2155 or lawrence@hydedefinition.com for a meeting or discussion.

PenCott on sale – “H.45″ retail store opens in Jakarta

Indonesian entrepreneur, military uniform collector, and self-confessed camouflage addict, Arie Setya Yudha, passed a significant milestone last week when the “H.45″ retail store opened as his agent in Jakarta.

Arie’s company Molay Military Uniform Division aims to provide comfortable, durable, efficient military-grade garments and gear for real-deal and mil-sim tactical use.  The company’s focus is 100% on function not fashion and every piece in their range is designed and crafted in Indonesia, using top quality materials sourced globally.

The H.45 store takes its name from the first letter of a well-known Indonesian war cry, and from 1945 – the year that Indonesia declared its independence from The Netherlands.  And .45 is of course also the calibre of a certain legendary pistol.  Arie and his business partners put all of these elements together, and created what is probably the coolest and most modern-looking store for tactical goods that we have ever seen.

Store details:

H.45
Jl Bulevard Artha Gading, Sentra Bisnis Artha Gading
Blok A 7D no 9
Kelapa Gading, Jakarta 14240

tel. 021 458 572 36

There are plans afoot for H.45 to also have an e-commerce enabled website in the not too distant future.

In the meantime, Molay Military Uniform Division has also had success in designing a new tactical uniform for the Indonesian National Police’s “Gegana” SWAT unit – known as the Peacekeeping Uniform (or PKU).

The PKU is also available commercially in PenCott camouflage patterns, and is already selling well in Indonesia and beyond.

Check out Molay Military Uniform Division on Facebook for full details about the PKU.

PenCott – “Things are easy when you’re big in Japan”

According to the ’80′s synth-pop hit from Alphaville, “things are easy when you’re big in Japan”.  And,  judging from what we’ve seen so far, the “PenCott Uniform” from Japanese airsoft gear producer/retailer RAG Industries is well on its way to becoming a big thing…

Made from our milspec, vat-printed, 50/50 Nylon-Cotton ripstop fabric, the price for a complete set of the RAG Industries PU is approximately $230 US.
